The People’s Haulier, Pelsall Carnival

Celebrating with Our Local Community – Official Transportation Partner to Pelsall Carnival

Throughout the history of our company, we have always strived to give back to our local community as much as possible, not only helping those in need but celebrating our community. This commitment has played an important part in helping us earn a reputation as “the people’s haulier” and we will always be proud to support local causes. This summer, we are delighted to be the official transportation partner for the 50th Anniversary of the Pelsall Carnival, which takes place on Saturday 8th July.

Whilst the 50th Anniversary of the carnival was in 2021, due to covid restrictions, and road closure legislations in 2022, 2023 will mark the anniversary in the style that it deserves. As a 3rd generation family run business, we are absolutely delighted to support the West Midlands’ Premier Independent Carnival, which provides an excellent family day out each year, with fun fairs, stalls, a car boot sale, a wide variety of entertainment, and of course, the grand procession, with a parade of decorated floats, bands, walking groups. As a free admission, not-for-profit event, all proceeds go to charities and good causes in the local area.

Hayward Transport leads the Pelsall Carnival Procession

A procession of floats is central to carnival celebrations throughout the world and has been key to the excitement around Pelsall’s famous carnival since its inception in 1972. As the official lorry supplier to this year’s extra special event, we are very happy to provide the vehicles and flatbed trailers for the 50th anniversary grand procession, which promises to be extra special to mark this momentous celebration.

Safety and problem solving are at the heart of our company ethos so we take great pride in ensuring that all parade floats are safe and secure, and driven with great care by our team of experienced drivers. We look forward to safely navigating each float through the full route of the carnival parade, which is back close to its original route this year, bringing the celebrations to as many of the people of Pelsall as possible, along with visitors from all around the West Midlands.

Sharing our success with the local community

One of the key factors that makes the carnival so special is that every year, it is made possible by volunteers. In addition to the carnival committee, the event relies on support from Walsall businesses and volunteers from the local community. As we are now celebrating the 50th anniversary, it’s all the more exceptional that this not-for-profit, community led initiative has been so successful.

Sean Hayward said: “As a Walsall company, we know just how important events like the Pelsall Carnival are to our local community and businesses, so it’s a great privilege for us to offer our services for the procession and share our success with the community.

“Our reputation as the people’s haulier means a lot to us, so we strive to always live up to this, whether finding solutions for customer’s transportation problems, or finding ways to give back to the community around us. That the Pelsall Carnival is now celebrating its 50th Anniversary says a lot about the community spirit of people in our town.”

The Pelsall Carnival 50th Anniversary Celebration takes place on Saturday the 8th of July, with the main arena activities and entertainment on Pelsall Common running from noon to 5pm. Hayward’s will lead the Carnival Procession at 1.30pm, departing from Commonside, and making its way to Old Town Lane.
